erasmus à Montpellier

Hello everyone!!! My name is Eleni and i am from greece!! i am in Montpellier around twenty five days.. The life in Montpellier is different. I try to get used to the new way of life!! I like Montpellier and my life here.I meet a lot of people from all over the world and i want to learn many things from these cultures!! Montpellier is beautiful and there are many surprises here!!I hope this experience will be great!!!
Hi everyone :)

I'm Julien, I'm french and I don't know if  I'm the best one to talk about life in Montpellier because I'm actually living in Nîmes (which is a close city located at around 60km from Mtp). So, I'm only here for studies (and parties of course) but what I can say is that Mtp is a really cool place to study and meet lots of people coming from all over the world, it's  really  a dynamic and attractive city, from my point of view there are so many young people living there compared to Nîmes. And that's a good thing ! it makes it even more active and alive ! Maybe, the only negative point would be the incredible number of people taking the tram during peak hours (especially in the morning) BUT, I disregard that because the city worth it !

That's a real pleasure!

Bon soir ;)

It‘s Laura from Germany and I’m living in Montpellier for about 5 months now.
I haven’t been to France before I came to Montpellier last summer to spend my Erasmus semester here. So the first challenge was to actually communicate with people in French, a language I learned at school for several years but which I haven’t really spoken before.

I fell in love with Montpellier straight away and it didn’t take long until it became my second home, where I felt so comfortable and familiar very soon. Montpellier with it’s fantastic whether, beautiful city center, beach and sea and all those leisure-time possibilities is the perfect place to study for me.
The biggest drawback which gave me a shock is the ever-present huge contrast of rich and poor. The fact that there are so many homeless people living in the streets in front of luxury stores and boutiques give me an unpleasant feeling and make me questioning the social system we’re living in.
Maybe I grow up in a very protected environment and didn’t experience this so much or Montpellier is exceptional because it's a very popular aim for immigrants with its location and mild climate and shows therefore this violent contrast.

Anyways Montpellier was the lucky pull in my Erasmus decision and even after having seen many other cities in France like Marseille, Toulouse and Paris or villages like Avignon and Nimes I would always go again for Montpellier!!!
Hello everyone :)

I'm Elise, and I've been living in Montpellier for 9 years know !
What I like the most in this city, apart from the awesome weather, is the fact that there is always something to do.
Even thought I feel more comfortable in bigger cities, Montpellier is definitely a pleasant city to live in. In winter you can take walks on sunny weather, buy pizza at 3 am, go to clubs from monday to sunday night and meet people from all over the world... In summer,  well, the beach is the place to be !
I know I won't live here all life long, but I'm thinking about coming back when I'm older.
The old city (Ecusson) is my favorite spot where I always am.
Have a nice sunday night, and see you guys tomorrow !

Life more amazing than imagination

Hey guys :)

Well, I was constantly asked about the reason why I chose to come to Montpellier as an exchange student while I can certainly go to Paris. The reason I gave them at the very beginning was: weather. The mediterian weather guaruntees the sun, and for me, who come from Taiwan, where it always rain in the winter, sunshine is so attracting.
And now, after around 5 months here in Montpellier, I didn't regret my choice. The weather is good, but moreover, the people here are wonderful :) Being a city full of students, we get the chance to meet people from all over the Europe and even the world. Besides, with so many activities going on here, you can hardly get bored!
Montpellier is a young city full of energy and liveliness, and that is my favorite part of Montpellier, because after 5 months here, I'm still amazed by the city :D

Montpellier by Thomas

Dear readers,

It's Thomas from Mauritius, before being student in Montpellier, I was at Toulouse, and I didn't expect such a radical change.

Montpellier 's weather is unique, everyday while watching weather forecast, I can notice the mediterranean part of France is regularly enjoying the sunshine even if the rest of the territory is cloud, wet, snow covered and it's the same for temperatures, always among the highest in France.

The town with the unmistakable colourful tramways doesn't push you into a stressful lifestyle like those with the metro. Even if French are stressed people, here they take the time to live and this is what I appreciate the most.

Moreover, the ocean is only 15 minutes far from city center but I cannot have a swim in it with these low temperatures. Anyway knowing that the sea is so close to my place comforts me.

I hope you'll appreciate life here as I do

Thomas.

Montpellier, by Kenji

Hello, Guten Tag, Dobar Dan, Buenos Dias, Namaste, Dzien Dobry, Aloha.... Bonjour !

It's Kenji, from New Caledonia. Welcome to Montpellier, I hope you enjoy it !
I've been here for 6 months and I am not disappointed. This city is neither too big, nor too small: it's the perfect size. There are many things to do and everything is very accessible with these wonderful tram... BTW be careful with the controllers if you don't pay your ticket !

The most important thing to me here is the climate. Montpellier is the sunniest city in France, and temperatures are not too low. Perfect for someone who comes from a tropical country !
So, you made a good choice, have fun and study hard ;)

Place de la Comédie - by me

Hello everybody !!!

It's Mehdi, so i will be the first student to post in this blog. I'll talk about what i love in Montpellier.
I've been here for 5 years since i came from morocco, and altough i had the opportunity to go study in other cities; i couldn't leave Montpellier as i feel related a lot to the city. First, what i love is the weather, not too cold at winter; and the summer here is perfect. Also Montpellier is a student's city, i had the opportunity to meet over the years people from different cultures and countries. Also the infrastructure is very developped, we have new changes every year; in only 3 years they built 2 additionnal tramway lines, and also the big mall in odysseum. Finally, what i love the most is that you can enjoy all activities you can think about; the city is offering many associations and clubs, wathever is your passion you can enjoy it here.

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog!
